Goes to Wanderlei Silva for his Scuba Mask apparatus contraption that is meant to improve his endurance in the Octagon and also make him look like a fuckin' tool at the same time.
The now famous Wanderlei Silva scuba pic (because I am shamelessly making this famous) was highlighted by Rachelle Leah's UFC All Access show and now I firmly believe that there is an "All Access curse" for any fighter that goes on this show.
Back to Silva, I was disappointed with Silva's fight. He didn't press the action or use his Muay Thai like he's been known to do instead, he sat back to block Chuck's shots with his face. Not a smart strategy but then again, check the picture above to understand why.
The fight went as I predicted in that it would go the distance and I am very relieved that I will get to see Chuck Liddell fight again very soon and hopefully, Keith Jardine will be that guy.
Who know's what's up next for Wanderlei Silva but if the UFC/MMA gods are smiling on us all in 2008 then they will give us Wanderlei Silva vs. Shogun Rua to quash the looming question in all of our minds which is, "Who is the better Light Heavyweight?"

I'm not a training expert, but I've heard mention that fighters should avoid breathing through the mouths. An open jaw is an easier KO or something.
ReplyDeleteNice way to hit a man while he's down Greg, haha.
The best time to hit another dude is when he's down which is another reason why Silva probably felt displaced because he couldn't use his famous leg stomps and soccer kicks to the noggin'.
ReplyDeleteCome on Tim, wasn't it a bit funny?
The picture speaks for it's self. Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like some torture device to promote brain damage.
I really thought that snorkel held the keys to victory!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would rather see Lidell fight Houston Alexander. I can see Dana having Liddel one of the undefeated Brazilians, Thiago Silva or Machida.
