Nick Diaz Trash Talks Gomi

Nick Diaz is set to fight the Pride Lightweight champion in his Pride debut at Pride 33 on February 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ok, let's back up for a moment... Diaz is a former UFC fighter making his debut in Pride against the Lightweight Champion, "The Fireball Kid" Takanori Gomi. Sounds like Pride wants to make a huge statement to the world to showcase where the best fighters, and MMA organization is in the world. Dana White will be watching fo show!

Diaz is a good fighter with a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown belt under the world famous Cesar Gracie. Diaz has lost to lesser fighters than Gomi in the UFC such as Karo Parysian, Diego Sanchez, Joe Riggs and the newly crowned UFC Lightweight Champion, Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk.

Here is a quote from Nick Diaz given in an interview to graciefighter.com about his upcoming bout against Gomi:

"I don't think he has anything to offer that I haven't seen before. I think I've fought tougher guys than him. The guys I've fought hit harder, were better wrestlers and better grapplers. What does he think he'll be able to do to me? I'm not intimidated at all and if he thinks he can knock me out that's fine. I think he'll be the one getting an ass beating so I hope he's ready." - Diaz

Now, those who orbit often in MMA circles will know that Nick Diaz is a good fighter and he's also a loose cannon who isn't afraid to fight anyone anyhow, anywhere regardless of the opponent which, could be dangerous for Nick.

I am throwing my support for Gomi to knockout Diaz. The MMA world will be watching the unofficial UFC Vs. Pride fight on American soil, February 24. Stay connected to MMA Fever and we'll have the clips following the fight.

I have included my favorite video clip of Nick Diaz fighting against "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler at UFC 47 on 4/2/2004.

  1. I agree with NaUtiX and am laying 20 dollars on Diaz to win.

    Hail the great Ceaser.

  2. Go ahead, it'll be the fastest $20 you ever spent... no, wait, the Sundowner and the Upper Brass Rail are the places that took the fastest 20 bucks from you.

This will be the second fastest.

You are confusing Takanori Gomi with Tie Domi of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It's Gomi that Diaz is fighting, not Domi dude!

If it was MMA on skates then I would pick Domi over Gomi.

Domi's famous like was, "You don't know me but if you wanna Go-me, I'm Tie Domi".

  3. Well you have said the Downer, and the Upper Brass Rail (which we now call UBR which all the engineering types laugh at), and Tie Domi all in one post.

    I have no reply.

    HAIL! Ceaser!

  4. After cruising the site I'm curious why this isn't called "Pride MMA Fever" so people with taste don't waste their time reading anything here?

I see you are a fan of the Ultimate Fighter series... me too.

It's interesting to see Dana White actively pursue and sign Pride fighters and also publicly admit that if he had the chance to buy Pride that he would. Why was the UFC pumping CRO COP and Rampage at UFC 67?

Dana White shrugs off every MMA organization except Pride. Hmmmmmmmmmm............

Gomi is the Lightwieght Champion and Diaz is a Dana White cast out from the UFC. I don't make this stuff up, it's for real.

Some people are fine watching recycled TUF fighters in PPV cards and others want to see the best fighters in the world fight each other.

Sorry that you don't like the site. As it stands, you are the only one that has said so and I respect your point of view. We don't intend to cater to everyone and our style can be too avant garde for some but then again, this is a site about fighting, right?

The UFC is just one MMA organization... just one of many.

MMA is larger than any organization and we like to cover Pride, UFC, EliteXC, Cage Rage et al.

My opinions are just that - my opinions. There are three of us who contribute and not all three agree which, makes this site very unique and we are proud of that.

My posts are generally passion filled and intended to push the button of the reader. Based on your response, I have succeded.

There are plenty of other sites that rewrite the news but not many have the sack to say what they really feel as MMA fans. I speak for me alone and I welcome contrary views. This is what MMA Fever is all about!
