UFC President Dana White, in a continuing effort to bring the best fighters in the world to the organization, tonight announced the signing of former Pride Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira.
The 30-year old Nogueira (29-4-1), an eight year veteran of the sport, is one of the most creative ground fighters in the world, and also a fighter who is well rounded in all aspects of mixed martial arts. Best remembered for his stay in the Pride organization, where he took on the likes of Fedor Emelianenko, Dan Henderson, Heath Herring, and Mark Coleman, one of the Brazilian’s standout wins was his stirring 2003 submission victory over current UFC heavyweight contender Mirko Cro Cop (see below).
In his last bout, on December 31, 2006, Nogueira scored a unanimous decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett (see below).
No date or opponent has been announced for Nogueira’s debut with the UFC.

ReplyDeleteI'm confused:
ReplyDelete"In his last bout, on December 31, 2006, Nogueira scored a unanimous decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett (see below)."
Though "below" is a split decision loss to Josh?
I uploaded the wrong video boyz.
ReplyDeleteMy bad:
Loss Josh Barnett Decision (Split) PRIDE Final Conflict Absolute 9/10/2006 2 5:00
I will dig up the correct one.
his last fight was in pride 33 and he got knocked out by Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, 23 seconds of the first round
ReplyDeleteYou've got the wrong Nog.
ReplyDeleteThat was Rogerio that got n00bed, not Rodrigo.
