UFC 72 Fight Card - "It's Shyte"

Is it me or does everyone else think that the UFC 72 fight card is a pile of Irish shit.

Which one of these fights am I supposed to be excited about enough to want to part money with to buy the UFC 72 pay per view event on June 16.

It's clear that the coneheads in the UFC brass decided on these fighters based on their heritage and/or their last names that appear to be Irish.

Brilliant!!!! - NOT

Screw it, I'm rooting for Okami, Ramirez & Sanchez or should we call them O'Kami, O'Ramirez & O'Sanchez.

Martin Kampmann was supposed to fight Rich Franklin at UFC 72 in Belfast, Ireland however, he was injured leading up to the fight and promptly replaced by the controversial choice of the UFC with Yushin Okami.

Rumours flew around last week that Franklin had a chance to fight undefeated Pride FC fighter, Paulo Filho however it was turned down by Franklin's manager Monte Cox for Okami instead. I found it posted somewhere on the UG forum by Monte Cox himself but decided to ride it out until now.

This was tossed out as untrue and Franklin's management says that the UFC chose Okami instead of Filho. Regardless, Franklin is in store for a tough match and a good old fashioned beating at the hands of Okami. Franklin by decision "Victory" as my prediction.

I wonder if the UFC chose Okami over Filho because Okami sounds Irish? If that was the case then I really would not be surprised at all. O'Kami sounds better anyway.

BRUTAL UFC 72 FIGHT CARD

Main Event:
Middleweight - Rich Franklin (21-2) vs. Yushin Okami (20-3)

Undercard:
Middleweight - Forrest Griffin (13-4-0) vs. Hector Ramirez (6-2-1)
Middleweight - Jason MacDonald (18-8) vs. Rory Singer (11-6)
Lightweight- Tyson Griffin (8-1-0) vs. Clay Guida (21-7-0)
Welterweight - Marcus Davis (11-3) vs. Jason Tan (4-1)
Heavyweight - Jake O’Brien (10-0) vs. Tom Murphy (2-0)
Heavyweight - Eddie Sanchez (6-1) vs. Colin Robinson (6-1)
Middleweight - Ed Herman (12-5) vs. Scott Smith (11-3)
Lightweight - Dustin Hazelett (8-3) vs. Stevie Lynch (4-0)

Save your money, I'll have the fights loaded up on MMA Fever a few hours afterwards. I can't gurantee that they'll be there for long but then again, who cares when we have UFC 73 - STACKED coming up on July 7, 2007. UFC 72 will be long forgotten and for a very good reason... the fight card sucks.

Cheers!!
