Din Thomas BUSTED!!!


Din Thomas was busted for "illegal cage fighting" a.k.a. - non-sanctioned MMA fights.

SUBJECT: Port St. Lucie Police arrest Ultimate Fighting Champion Din Thomas for organizing illegal cage fighting in St. Lucie West.

On October 30, 2007, the Port St. Lucie Police arrested Din Thomas (DOB 9-28-76, 538 SW. Bailey Terrace, PSL), a well known mixed martial artist for organizing illegal cage fighting at a studio which he runs.

Police responded to 494 NW. Lake Whitney Place after an off-duty officer received a tip about the cage fights. When officers responded, they observed approximately 150 people watching two men fight. The men in the cage were observed punching and kicking each other throughout the fight. During one of the matches, one of the men was knocked unconscious. There was no hired medical staff at this event.

Din Thomas was arrested for one Felony count for violating F.S.S 548.008 prohibited competitions.

The investigators will be available today at 1:30 p.m. at the main police department.

  1. Yup... He's pretty much screwed. The law he's accused of violating says you can't hold a "match" and then defines matches as contests OR exhibitions. Exhibitions are defined as any engagement in which participants show their skill.

    I still have a year of law school left and I'm pretty sure I could convict him.

    3rd degree Felony... Ouch...
